The medieval shirt

For a knight tournament, I decided to sew adequate cloths…namely a shirt and trousers.

On the internet I found a few simple basic templates for my project:

I took the shirt idea from [Corvin] http://home.arcor.de/Warlock0/Leitfaden%20zur%20ersten%20Gewandung.pdf, on page 7 and the trousers from here: http://www.weltdeslarp.de/jalindro/hose.html.

The fabrics I found in a local branch of a big Swedish furniture store. They offer a lot of different fabrics,  charged by weight(!), self service and reasonable priced. For the shirt I found a linen looking cotton fabric and for the trousers….yes I think it’s proposed for curtains, but looks also great for medieval trousers.

BackPackBag…or the Rucksack extension

The drawback of going somewhere by motorbike is the whole protective clothes you have to wear. Reaching the target place you find often a place where you can store you stuff, buts what’s about the shoes? Usually you don’t like to walk around the whole day, wearing your boots because they are much likely not that comfortable. I like to have a pair of low shoes at mine, but for to carry them it’s most likely no space inside my rucksack. Further, they might be dirty and so you don’t like put them inside your bag much more.

My solution for this issue is a BackPackBag…a bag which you can mount to the back of you backpack.

The victim for this project was an old and defective rain jacket. The blue belt was from an old shopping bag, so the only part I had to buy was the Velcro.
